  2. SAND scored this whisky 89 points Expert Junior

    (Tasted blind)
NOSE: Dried banana, some dried coconut, candy, old wood shavings, wood oils. With some water; greener, herbal, a bit grassy, honey, red berries. (90-91p)
TASTE: Quite strong in alcohol, rich, concentrated, some honey. With water it opens up and becomes more harmonious; yellow fruits, barley juice, "peppered" heather honey. (89-90p)
EXIT: A little wood pepper, herbs. Water doesn't change much. (88p)
    SCORE: 89 points.

  4. Calmar scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

The aroma is tightly compressed, practically does not contribute anything to the overall piggy bank, the taste / finish is more open, dense and rich, the palette of derivatives is nevertheless rather poor, but the depth and maturity are clearly felt.
    • Nose
Very closed, dry, woody notes, a little minerality and grain, subtle shades of a carpentry workshop and creamy derivatives, it is slightly revealed in development, but still very weak.
    • Taste
Dense, rich, oak, old leather goods, creamy notes, dusty, unsweetened dried apricots, metallic taste, strong feeling of long aging in glass.
    • Finish
Spicy, rich, oak, pepper wave, camphor, menthol, leather goods, tobacco, a little fruity sweetness with sourness, pleasant sweet mountain ash shades appear in development.

  5. Ostap scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

This guy from Ireland has been waiting for a very long time. The aroma reveals itself only after 40 minutes, at the beginning it is very empty. After opening the aroma becomes meaningful, whole and pleasant. The taste and aftertaste are typically Irish, with exotic fruits. In my opinion, a little short of the major leagues. Although, of course, this whisky can be enjoyed.
    • Nose
      87 87
Vanilla, sweet pastries with raisins and dried apricots, dates, lemon peel, herbal, fried potatoes (chilled), sulphurous notes, light lacquer, butter bun, drizzled with honey, iris, square cookies "Chess", eucalyptus cold there are notes of tropical fruits and anise (sambuca).
    • Taste
      88 88
      Citrus, herbaceous, tropical fruits, sulfurous.
    • Finish
      88 88
Tropical fruits, peppers, warms, long, honey, red currants.

Light straw pour. Nose is typical Irish indie from this era -- nectarine skin, canned fruits, essential oils (lemon), herbal, and a whiff of alcohol. Mouth is hot upfront, but I just opened the bottle so it's expected. More concentrated oils and stone fruits. Quite hot. Lots going on, not one of the sweeter ones and rather more about these highly concentrated waxes, citrus oils. Will adjust score when it opens more, but as always it very good.
