[March, 2021] Another very old blend nothing is known about...

...which does not matter because this was created for just one purpose: To be enjoyed without "analysis paralysis" in a relaxed setting preferably with good friends. By the way, these old blends are excellent opportunities to experience the old whisky styles which are long gone since decades - without spending tons of bucks on very old single malts (Do not take the prices of "The Whisky Exchange" too seriously, they just wait for the stupid deep-pocketed buyer who does not really know the inherit value of whisky. You can get such bottles much, much cheaper at whisky online auctions).

There are some flawed ones among these old blends too, but most of them are truly excellent and even improved due to the legendary bottle maturation. I like to quaff this stuff.
    • Nose
      88 88
The colour is old gold and the nose offers an average old blend's profile, and average means pretty fine in that sense. All is completely distillate-driven with tons of old-style florals, waxes and earthy notes but nothing really spectacular about it. Nice to sniff when sipping a dram, but that is all what matters in the end.
    • Taste
      88 88
The taste is very quaffable on a balanced mix of sweet and bitter flavours which are hard to identify because they intermingle altogether in this blend. So I skip investigation and just savour this dram from long-gone times. It serves exactly what it was designed for - to be an enjoyable drink after a hard day's work.
    • Finish
      87 87
The dram arrives warming and coating on the palate without distracting moments. The finish is of medium length and adds more sweet sugars and bitter herbs at the same time thus keeping the balance. No drying or astringent moments until the very end, this dram is flawless. As expected, water is not needed.
