Whisky Reviews for Hedonism Vatted Grain CB

7 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.94 points

  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

It's definitely a grain whisky, but not very complex in my opinion.
    • Nose
The influence of grain is very present; fresh penicl shavings and sawdust. Also vanilla and honey at the background.
    • Taste
More maltiness now. Cereals. Some new oak. Vanilla yoghurt at the background). Furniture polish. Orange marmelade.
    • Finish
Not that long. A little pepper and liquorice. Lacks real depth.

  2. QuarterCentury scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

A terrific vatted grain whisky (the first of its type) from tireless innovators Compass Box. Supple & silky, with elegant, rich flavours of vanilla, toffee, coconut and cocoa.

    Nose:  Vanilla cream

Palate:  Like lightly oaked bourbon, but smoother and with milder oak flavor.  Custard.  Luscious mouth feel.  I like these grain flavors better than I like young malt, I think.  Very smooth, even neat.

Really enjoyable stuff.  If this were $50/bottle rather than $100, it would have a spot in my daily rotation, especially in warmer weather.

  5. The Whisky Cyclist scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

nice dram, not as sweet as grain whiskies can be
    • Nose
coffee, sweetness, indeed Martin the pencil shavings, back to kinder garten
    • Taste
more power than the nose, but not that sweet, like grains can be,
    • Finish
month drying, but sweet tones keep on coming through

  6. numen scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Really opens up after breathing for a few minutes. Citrus, toffee, rich
lemon cream pie, anise, coriander, and sweet, buttery baked goods.
    • Taste
Rich and viscous. Has a little grip to it, and a slight bitterness. Toffee, spice, baked goods, pecan pie.
    • Finish
Fairly long. This is really a lot of fun. Sweet toffee blends with typical grain bitterness, along with buttery baked goods.

  7. mmaclean scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Gold color. Delicate aromas of tropical fruits (coconut, pineapple,

mango), marshmallow and vanilla. Light in body, with delicate exotic

flavors that deliver what the aroma promises. Soft, gentle, delicately

    creamy finish.
