    Blindsample.
    Süffiger Whisky.
    • Nose
      Colour:
      Light shiny gold

      Nose:
Starts very fresh floral and with a lot of caramel. Behind it lemongrass and some vanilla.
With a little time in the glass, the colleague opens more. Becomes brighter. So in the direction of passion fruit. In addition fresh, sawn wood. Hazelnuts and dry waffles. Pastries and a pinch of salt.
But it keeps getting sweeter. Juicy apple and I don't know why, but it smells a bit like chestnuts that you just picked fresh from the prickly shell. A spark of smoke and slightly ashy.
    • Taste
Sweet and at the same time bitter attack. Just got something from herbal tea. Including the drought. But again somehow ne slightly artificial sweetness.
With the second sip I also think I have this wisp of smoke in my mouth. Plus a fresh bitterness. Here, too, the taste has something of fresh wood. The light fruit aromas seem a bit impetuous and immature. Nevertheless, the colleague is quite tasty and tasty. The alcohol pushes something on the tube and I think of cask strength.
    • Finish
Rather long. He stays for a while. With vanilla and bitterness of wood. Before it ends slightly creamy and sweet. At the very end it has something of cream for dessert.

A nice barrel, I really like 1st Fill Bourbons anyway, because the complexity, which is always a bit short, is nicely compensated by strength and flavor intensity in my opinion.

The direct comparison to the 12 The Deveron standard can be clearly related and briefly summarized: The Brothers in Malt is apple CAKE without raisins compared to APPLE cake WITH raisins at the 12 OA, whose slightly darker gold with red tinge as well as the plums and raisins in taste suggest the involvement of sherry casks.
    • Nose
      89 89
Bright gold reminds of strawy apple juice in the glass, very sweet and velvety impressions initially fog up, grapes (very slightly in the direction of raisins), dried mangoes, papaya and physalis are included. Behind it, the distillery-typical apple juice shimmers through, but is soaked up in apple pie, in which you have inhaled the icing sugar by mistake before it even mutates to lemoncurd on buttered toast. This sharp impression may also be caused by the noticeable alcohol and some aromatic wood, spruce and vanilla bean. When nosing, it is advisable to roll the glass a little every now and then, because otherwise apple compote dominates the nose, freshly stirred but still light, light marzipan with rose water and again the powdered sugar and something floral between tulips and Boxwood.
    • Taste
      87 87
In the mouth, sweetness and sharpness immediately crash into one another - forgive me for the expression - it burns like S in the beginning ... It diffuses quickly through the palate walls, warm and intense. The apple pie with icing sugar returns, apricot jam, the flowery becomes a perfume note and overall sweetness and bitterness play with each other, the spruce wood now fluctuates between lollipop and cigar tobacco.
    • Finish
      84 84
Also in the finish there is a conflict between the cigar box and the fruit bowl and somehow the impression of lightly browned roasted almonds, which unfortunately does not stay too long.

A great whisky for the summer.
    • Nose
Peach, lots of vanilla and butterscotch. A light approach of toffee paired with a great sweetness.
    • Taste
Peach compote with vanilla sauce. Immense sweet. Fresh baked crumb cake, but also a tingling accent in the background like fresh lemon sorbet.
    • Finish
      Medium. Sprinkles mixed with peach.
