Excessive sweetness in the aroma compensates for the salty taste and smoky finish (22) Delicatessen (87)
    • Nose
The aroma is thick, sticky ... spicy spices ... a drunken highness ... liqueur notes .. (with notes of nut and caramel appearing) peat ... iodine and a pinch of salt (22)
    • Taste
Salt and biscuit ... smoky (22)
    • Finish
Caramel in the smoke ... (21)

  5. Lorion scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

Very good smoker, exciting and intense. 86 points.
    • Nose
Warm smoke, peaty, some cowshed (hay). Sweet and mineral, as if you were licking the stalactites in a slightly moldy stalactite cave. Baked apple with cinnamon.
      Water: softer, peatier.
    • Taste
Heavily intense. Neat smoke. Very sweet, honey. The minerals are there and certainly the alcohol.
      Water: sweeter, more pleasing.
    • Finish
Long and warm, stay a few herbs.

I prefer this one without water
    • Nose
Enjoy the smooth, well balanced smell and it does not smell as strong as the cask stength says. peaty and smoky, ashy, dried fruits, raisins, smells fresh, lemon peel,
    • Taste
      Spicy, peppery, ginger, mouth watering,
    • Finish
      Long, sweet, soft, tobacco,

  9. St. Pauli scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

This is a well-fed, medium peated, saline dram.
    • Nose
Dunnage warehouse, nuts, dried fruit, mixed with boggy, salty peat. Then, there is pineapple, a bit of alcohol (not entirely integrated) and plain oak.
    • Taste
Rather full-bodied, salt and sweet, with a nice drying twist towards the end. There is raisin, coffee, damp earth, wood, ash, rubber. Towards the end: ginger bread, pepper.
    • Finish
Leaves a medium long, spicy and ashy, and even almost "green" finish.
