  2. gerrit de guru scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Sweet raisins, juniper berries, cinnamon cake, baked apples and milkchocolate.
    Undilluted very drinkable. Cognacky.

  3. Kaleva scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

Nice single malt, sherried but with obvious maritime motives. Very closed on its full strength so dilution is a must. Water brings mineral notes and sherry attributes - dried fruits and spices. In general it’s a good expression, which lacks, however, complexity.
    • Nose
A bit perfumery, sherry, damp wood, beeswax, orange peel, butter biscuits. Water opens up dried fruits, dark berries and light malty notes
    • Taste
Sweet, peppery, blackberry jam, mineral and salty notes, grapefruit zest
    • Finish
Medium-long, mouthwatering sweet with salty tones, maritime feeling

  6. HammerHead scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

A complex sherried malt, heavy on dark chocolate and liquorice. Great bottling.
    • Nose
      89 89
Dried fruits like figs, apricots and raisins, plum, sweet brown liquorice (stophoest), pecan nuts, some well integrated shoe/furniture polish and leather and a mild herbal note.
    • Taste
      90 90
Dark fruits, plum, dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee beans, black liquorice, a thick dark treacle like sweetness; very palatable.
    • Finish
      90 90
Long: very dark chocolate, almost dusty on cocoa, black liquorice, caramel and burnt treacle with a beautiful bitter wood note at the back.

  8. Calmar scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

A kind, sweet, sherry monster, the base somewhere deep and only occasionally peers through the thickness of sherry derivatives, but nevertheless imparts rigor and rigor, on the whole a very pleasant and strong mole.
    • Nose
Open, dry, very rich, sweet, raisins, pitted grapes, spicy wood - furniture, a cigar hat, furniture varnish, fried nuts, baklava, dried fruits, dried mushrooms, pu er, prunes, leavened wort.
    • Taste
Rich, thick, sweet oak with light astringency, raisins, burnt crackers, nuts, light sulfuric-metallic acid notes, mineral tones, bitter chocolate, a little pepper.
    • Finish
Spicy, enveloping, raisins, prunes, oak, a little pepper, cappuccino, dark chocolate, light acidic notes.
