tasted blind: is there any peat in this? Is that the liquorice element? I never guessed this was from Islay, it was more like a weird Campbeltown; I think this would be a rather polarising whisky; I cannot see myself relishing a bottle but I admire it beating a different path
    • Nose
queer sherry, strong liquorice, a reminder of the perfume of crown royal rye harvest
    • Taste
      somewhat sour; sharp
    • Finish
      medium; liquorice comes back

Nose: Quite light at first, distant sea spray with heather and bracken in the air. Opens up to a puff of cocoa powder and a crumbled ginger snap.

Palate: Terry's chocolate orange... the dark one, rich tea biscuits, salted leather

Finish: A little light but still lengthy, doesn't need water at this strength, spice and sweetness, and yes of course the ginger. Really enjoyable.
