It is not much better, great hosted HP with a decent age, complex, you can spend whole evenings with.
    • Nose
Ah, you can already see the HP still, beautiful smoky heather meadow in the background, always present if only a small part, cocoa powder, plums, sultanas, cherry with seeds, polished oak, pipe tobacco, some mushrooms and raisins
    • Taste
Very complex as expected and very mouth-filling, heavy, herbal liqueur, rumrosins, lemon balm, orange peel, blood orange and also some banana split with dark chocolate in between, camphor, thyme and rosemary, some tea and mint with it, tobacco, could continue like this. ..
    • Finish
Long, herbal honey, cocoa powder, raspberry and berry bushes, dry, cherry pits and heather meadow in the background, autumn leaves

    Colour: dark amber. Nose: exceptional
right at first nosing, with a bold
    smokiness and superb coffee notes
upfront. Not unlike a high-end ristretto
in which you would have poured one
cl of the best rum ever. Goes on with
notes of Corinth raisins, Havana smoke,
    warm high-end sake, dried mushrooms
and furniture polish and comes back
more into line after that, with an
endless cortege of dried fruits and
    chocolate. A fantabulous old Highland
Park on the nose, where the big sherry
does not overwhelm the spirit at all.
    Exceptional – lucky Americans!

    Christ, this is truly exceptional!
Big, starting on all kinds of raisins,
switching to fresh mint, then lemon
balm, then cough syrup (lots of camphor),
then oak and its cortege of spices
(cloves and pepper first), then old
    rum, then crystallised oranges, then
    other dried fruits (bananas, papayas),
    then bitter chocolate, cocoa, genuine
    coconut liqueur (NOT Malibu)... Then
    something superbly resinous... then...
then... Phew, this whisky has no limits!
Finish: very long, like a raspberry
    liqueur-filled chocolate bonbon. Great
(even if the nose was a notch greater
    – and certainly drier - than
    the palate). SGP:545 –
    94 points.

Nose: actually quite close to a real,
highly aromatic Oloroso sherry. Juicy red plums, sultanas and truckloads
of preserved cherries and Ginjinha. Apricot jam too. Polished oak.
Hints of rosewater, perhaps a touch of flowers. Very juicy and fragrant
indeed. Then some molasses and pipe tobacco, leather and mocha. Hints of
smoke underneath. Mouth: same story, heavy sherry bordering on cough
syrup. Rum and raisins, baked bananas, herbs, crushed mint leaves and
camphor. Cherries and dried figs. Some coconut and tobacco. Slowly
moving towards resinous notes. Exceptional, though a bit on the dry side
and less wide than the nose. Finish: long, herbal, with the expected
cocoa. Still some of the cherry notes though.
As good as it gets after 34 years in a first-fill sherry butt. Highly
complex and balanced. The last time I saw one at an auction it fetched
    around € 1200. Thanks, Luc.

With the scores so high here, I would have expected more from this bottling. The nose is still pretty and complex. But I am disappointed with the taste. The 2014 prices are between 600 and 800 euros, which he really is not worth.
    • Nose
Heather, citrus fruits, milk, mocha, nuts, malt beer, dry sherry, woody effects, floral notes, herbs, honey and a little bit of smoke. - - multilayered, soft and round.
    • Taste
Start vigorously with dry sherry, heather and some smoke. The whole thing unfortunately with a bit bitter side effect. The taste shows volume, but can not compete with the nose.
    • Finish
Long with dry sherry and unfortunately quickly bitter.
