The first GM bottle I’ve bought that’s bottled at 46%. About time!

C: It’s only in context of the Balblair 1975 & 2003 [reviews to follow], that I truly start to appreciate this has more going on than first meets the eye. This distillate-led young malt displays some distillery character [malty, sweet-cereals, caramel, leather, apple crumble], whilst showing a maturity way above its 8 years. Well worth the punt, especially if you’ve not had Teaninich before.

    Scores a B-

It's a fair whisky, until you concider the price.

Think I paid no more than £28 for this bottle.

Then it's a "no brainer" in terms of value for money.
    • Nose
      Very fine fruity sherry nose.

At the edge it's light and a little citrusy, deeper down it's more musky.

Fresh cut apples, a light hint of banana.

Blue grape juice and raisins. Light fudgy undertone.

      Clean and fresh.
    • Taste
First impression bitter coffee and dark fudge.

      Very gentle undefined spice.

      Maybe a little salty liqorice.

Light fruit of the nose is out done by dry and heavy concentrated sherry.
    • Finish
Lightly spiced grape juice with bitterness of the skin.  Chocolate brownie. Some faint but very pleasant nuttyness.

First impression is rather short but it seems to last longer for each sip.
