    [March, 2017]  A nose that reminds me of a cider drink I had some years ago, it was mixed with a shot of lemon.  Really delicious, the apples are very present.  In the background some more fruits, hard to identify.  Nice arrival on the palate but a little bit ashy (drying).  Very spicy profile (peppers, rosemary, vanilla, mint) imbedded in a creamy sweetness.  The finish is long, fat and oily and adds some more fruits (pineapples, sour grapefruits).  Unfortunately it gets an increasing ashy dryness that is unpleasant (to me).  Water is not needed. All in all a very fine dram but slightly overaged (hence the ashy/dry notes)...

    My first Inchgower! This bottling is extremely dominated by cereal flavors and harsh wood tones. Despite the usually gloomy and austere aroma composition, sweet vanilla and fruit in combination with fresh mint create a pleasing contrast. Impressive is the voluminous heat generated by the Inchgower, never has heat pressed through the throat into the chest. At first I was disappointed with this bottling, but the longer I write and indulge in the Inchgower, the more I love its complexity and flavor composition.

    • Nose
      Bright and delicate amber shines in the glass, a large number of oily drops flow back into the Premium Snifter relatively quickly. Malty sweetness and a hint of vanilla pass through the nose, creamy cereal notes and juicy apple mingle with freshly sliced ​​bread to an appetizing mass. Hazelnuts and a hint of roasted cereal grains show up, from time to time sprightly nuances flashed through while sour fruit flavors arise. White bread is soaked in a few splashes of lemon juice, the nose is dominated by actually only cereal notes, bread (dough), yeast, malt and sweet vanilla.
    • Taste
      Herb and sometimes bitter the first sip flows over the tongue, toasted aromas and spicy wood elements stick to the palate, wooden sharpness spreads with a hint of pepper abruptly on the tongue and in the entire palate, the salivation is massively stimulated. Tart and dark tones of wood pull through the palate and spread their plump warmth everywhere, dark and old walnuts come on, maltily roasted grains of cereals spread on the tongue. The sharpness increases and literally burns on the tongue. A torrent of heat pushes through the throat towards the chest and stomach. In the background is surprisingly a sugary sweetness, fresh mint dissolves from the harsh and some sharp wood elements.
    • Finish
      Oily and greasy swim tart pieces of wood in the saliva, still clinging plump warmth in the mouth and throat. Tart cereal flavors and burnt malt are constantly broken by sweetness and fruit. For a long time the Inchgower warms the throat and the chest, slowly the harsh and dark aromas sound out and leave sweet vanilla and a hint of peppermint on the tongue.

    [September, 2018] I just found this opened bottle in a corner of my cellar where I obviously forgot about it after I cracked it open more than a year ago. So I am curious if the whisky (or my taste) changed since then...

    ...and it did not. Still it is a slightly overaged dram (a little too much spices and bitterness from the woods) with an interesting nose. Easy to drink, but not much more...

      The colour is yellow gold and the nose offers a fresh malty and fruity profile with strong aromas of apples (mainly the rather sour green ones, both as apple juice and cider). Later some yeasty notes pop up together with lemon and vanilla aromas. An interesting nose, for sure - but you have to like green apples... I do.

      The taste is very spicy and the green apples are gone. But some exotic fruits (pineapples, grapefruits) fill that gap nicely and add a fine sweet and sour flavour. It is not overly complex but easy to sip. Some water turns the dram more bitter (tannins, bitter almonds) - I like it best when neat.

      The whisky arrives a little hot (peppery) and nicely coating on the palate with a minor drying (ashy) moment. The finish is of medium length and adds no new impressions besides again a minor drying-astringent feeling (ashes) at the end.

    BLIND TASTING: Could be a Rye, about 43%. Tasty but I am so far no expert and have had too few comparison options so far. What can be said: it tastes really delicious. A bit too watery maybe, but really good.

      Rye bread without end. Vanilla. About something a little sour, if one is positive one would say vinous, negative one could call it easily sweaty;) Very sweet and pasty, vll shortcrust pastry. Interesting
    • Taste
      Not too strong. 43%. Surprising woody and slightly bitter, so could be older. But also a bit watered down. Again, the feeling of rye and bread as well as sweet pasta. Very spicy. rosemary
    • Finish
      Medium long, very sweet and just delicious

    Well, yes, I do not know what to say to that. He's definitely not boring. Bizarre, completely without balance, but with positive and negative surprises. The alcohol could really be better integrated.

      In the first breath strong yeast and foot. Calms down quickly, but remains idiosyncratic. Fruit notes do not get through, Faßsäure hovers over everything. After a little more life lemon juice with a hard to describe soft note. Yeast and gammel barrel, crazy! He does not have anything cute about him. Warms up a lot of grain and still acid, very chemical

      Oha, in the mouth, he has nothing at all from the nose. He is sharp, and sweet. In addition, a bizarre, dark note reminiscent of a hay infusion, frighteningly in a positive sense. To the rear massive tannins.
    • Finish
      He warms the chest, a very powerful dram. In terms of taste, this peculiar but positive hay infusion is the defining impression, framed by moderate honey sweetness. Overall, quite long,
