Vanilla and sweet fruit in the nose. Smooth and gentle in the mouth, I can not taste smoke. Oak, maybe even older barrels were used. Spiciness! Relatively long in the mouth present with the sweetness. No glue! I'm not a bourbon fan, the glue is always there, but not here, nada! Also for the Scotland ???????????????????????????? fan good to enjoy.

N- Not bad indeed, nice peppermint syrup with honey that faded to the background for chocolate to come fore. Pharmacy, ozone, medicinal then cooked oat mash, sour dough and bread-y with liquorice. Not as loud on oak as the elders and present herself in an elegant way. May not appeared too well for hardcore EC aged followers, but still a good bourbon with good DNA. (87/21)

P- Nutera spread, pleasantly nutty and chocolaty, mildly spicy and frizzy with good body with charred oak and liquorice. (86/20)

F- Medium, phenol of charred oak, liquorice, Hudson berries candy and quite clean on the finish. (86/20)

    B/B- 86/20

    Cereal- 3, Fruity- 1, Floral- 2, Peaty- 0, Feinty- 2, Sulphur- 0, Woody- 3, Winery- 1

A little less balanced than the old bottles with the 12 year age statement, with a bit more oak and alcohol bite. Still a pretty good benchmark, though. I added 1/4 of a teaspoon of water into 30ml, and it mellowed the alcohol elements. It also limited the range of smell and flavor while drawing out more of the brown sugar, dried fruit, and gentle spice notes. Of note, the finish lingers for an enjoyably long time. Also, as a side note, on those hot days when you've finished a long day at work, this one makes a respectable highball.
    • Nose
Maple syrup and something floral (tube roses and violets), a quick dash of raspberry followed by a long note of alcohol soaked dried fruits (cherries, prunes, apricots, and raisins), mixed nuts and seeds (walnuts and sunflower seeds especially), a touch of oak char, sweet corn and rye spice, and a thick layer of oak that tempers the alcohol burn.
    • Taste
Oak, malt and mixed cereal grains, cocoa with a touch of rye spice and nutmeg, dried fruits and violet candies, dark chocolate covered candied orange peel, and dark chocolate covered espresso beans.
    • Finish
Candied ginger cubes, oak and the same floral note from the nose, walnut oil, and a faint taste of tart raspberry coulis.
