Whisky reviews for Ainslie's Special Liqueur

One user has left a review for this whisky. Average rating is 100.00 points.

  1. ChefScotch scored this whisky 100 points Expert Junior

This rating is high for the actual liquid inside, however there is a story behind the rating. To give anything a 100 is a little over the top but there is no priceless rating. This bottle is from my Dads birth year and I have shared this passion and voyage with him. To find and actually be able to afford a bottle this old in this world of crazy expensive bottles. Then being able to open and share this with my father at this point of the journey is why I give it this rating, priceless!!!

As for the liquid inside the rating I would give a rating of 93.

Nose: Almonds, marzipan, smokey, salty honey, a touch of smoke from a freshly extinguished candle, dunnage, old wood, paraffin, wood varnish, British Christmas cake. Turkish delight, old books bound in old leather a touch of burnt sugar and linseed oil.

Taste: Smokey olives, creamy candle wax thickness, Floral honey, high quality chewing tobacco, smoking pipe resin, nutmeg, smokey sugars galore.

Finish: Lots of tarry and coal notes with camphor and A very sooty sweetness from honey and caramel. a thick coating that last on the tongue for a good couple minutes after the liquid is gone.
