Hm, well, nice new make. The barrel was probably not bad either, but hardly a high-flyer. Would definitely have to stay in the barrel for a few more years.
It was tasted on the occasion of the tasting of a 12-week Madeiranachreifung. Here he had won massively, but is still too young, because the best barrel does not help.
    • Nose
A few yellow fruit notes, malt, yeast, slightly sour, a haystack, which becomes more and more superficial over time. The alcohol tickles something in the nose. The alcohol bites mightily when heated, the yeast is very dominant, with some perfumed.
    • Taste
Occurs very time-shifted, but downright brutal. First, he is fruity sour, just slightly sweet, then comes the alcohol and brings a few tears in the eyes, then he is immediately dry and the acid is gone. Almost bitter ...
    • Finish
The finish is short without reheating. Tart and metallic with some malt, unspectacular.

Deser Malt certainly has potential, one should have left him only a few years in the barrel. For my taste, he is clearly immature and should not have been bottled for a long time.
    => 65/100
    • Nose
Extremely youthful and metallic with quite nice notes of light fruits like apples, pears and gooseberries as well as dull grassy nuances. Right sprittig.
    • Taste
Very sweet with a strong start. Especially honey and vanilla. Again, the youth is clearly noticeable, but a bit milder than in the nose.
    • Finish
      Medium length and extremely metallic

Nose: Again the same - no trace of alcoholic sharpness and that with 60 !!! Mild spiciness, cardboard, leather, and mushy fruit flavors of avocado, mango and lime.
Taste: Spicy and with a lot of power. Lots of fruit flavors and everything in its right place for its five years. Full salt charge with dull fruit character - leather, avocado, lime, cardboard, salt, pepper, nutmeg and herbs.
Finish: Nice, fresh and spicy. Here dominates the herb rail and suppresses the fruit. White chocolate - dull and dry.
Comment: What more can you expect after five years?!?
    85 points (nose: 84 / taste: 87 / finish: 85)

I like it a lot, it tastes delicious, it is dangerously tasty - comparable in appearance to the same old Blair Athol of the same series

    • Nose
Vanilla, medium, light sweetness, almost soft, then a light spiciness, a hint of licorice butter biscuit, honeydew melon. Overall, it looks light and fresh, but quite balanced for the age. In addition, the alcohol is not noticeable at all. No biting, no pulling, nothing.
    • Taste
creamy, almost fluffy, light sweetness, butter biscuits, gradually herbs, a touch spicy, aromas of a hay bed on the grill, alcohol makes itself felt late, but does not work as well 60%, the mouth room dries a little bit, rounding off Sweet
    • Finish
warming, alcohol is noticeable, but without being unpleasant, hint of spiciness, medium long.
