I am not a fan of these ultra-peated whiskies but this one is okay...
The colour is pale gold and the texture shows a few legs and late fat tears. The nose is a little bit punchy and sour, it certainly cries for water.
The taste is very sweet and phenolic but just two-dimensional. All other flavours and aromas are somewhat dominated by the huge barley sweetness and peatiness. I would not call this balance.
The mouthfeel is warming and drying (paper, cardboardy). The finish is long and again drying (cardboardy again). It is certainly an excellent swimmer: Some water opens up both the nose and the palate - neat I score this dram 2 points lower.
