Delicious, simply delicious ... An intensive nut mixture mixes with chocolate and espresso again and again. A fruity sherry aroma lies discreetly in the background and makes the Glentauchers a successful bottling. I like it!
    • Nose
Dark berries and roasted almonds stand out powerfully from the glass as soon as they are poured. Roasted aromas and nuts dominate the first impression, fruity apricots follow the nutty aroma. During the nosing I am always distracted by the long and tough streaks which make their way back into the glass in slow motion. Deeply amber, the diver shimmers in the glass and shines silky. Dried grapes and berries in cognac blend with spicy milk chocolate. A hint of mint and eucalyptus permeates the sweet fruity note. Creamy hazelnut chocolate mixes with dried orange slices, apricots and peaches fall into liquid chocolate. Sweet and creamy, the nose invites to the first sip ...
    • Taste
Creamy chocolate dominates the first moment before a torrent of freshly brewed and dark espresso pours over the chocolate. Tart and bitter the espresso exudes its intense aroma, subtle sharpness arises. Fruity oranges and dark chocolate push through the coffee, a hint of tobacco is immediately dimmed by hazelnuts and immature walnuts. Dark chocolate and tart wood elements play together, malty sweetness shows up just before a pinch of white pepper spreads over the tongue.
    • Finish
The subtle sharpness slowly fires the tongue and the palate. Intense espresso flavors mingle with dark, dark chocolate, almonds and hazelnuts follow the slowly fading sharpness. An intense walnut flavor exudes a plump warmth, chocolate is poured over coffee. Slowly, the harmonically harmonized aromas sound and leave behind a subtle tart orange-chocolate-nut mix.

again a great old school Sherry Cask, extremely complex and also the alcohol is very well integrated.
Such parts will probably be rarer in the future.

Immediately the typical red sherry fruits that have already dried a bit and somehow a light touch of those little white peas from back then, molasses, lots of coffee, honey, cherries are coming now, cream caramel, chestnuts and something that reminds me of wet, soaked cardboard.
    • Taste
      89 89
sweet, very much drooling, very full, raisins, also here again the coffee, oranges, nutty and oak also comes along and fits in perfectly with the overall picture
    • Finish
      88 88
warm, full, creamy, nutty-spicy, leathery, a bit oak. medium

    BLIND TASTING

N: Sweet and fruity nose with sherry, dates, leather, tobacco, furniture store and biscuits. Hardly alcoholic but quite one-sided by the Sherrydominanz. At the very end, a slightly menthol eucalyptus note comes through
G: But very strong, you notice the alcohol already neat, me almost a little too much straight, but also tastes voluminous. Sweet pastry. Fruit jam, maybe plum. At the end dry notes of leather, tobacco and cinnamon
A: The finish drifts more and more into the bitterness. Dry the tongue remains occupied. Slightly musty herbaceous notes, which I like. The bitterness is just ok for me.

F: nice part! Ben Nevis? Very barrel superimposed, so difficult to locate but delicious in any case. And strong alcohol

A powerful and characterized by dark sherry aromas malt which represents by its complexity and complexity for me a very successful overall impression. The pleasant sharpness harmonizes very well with the intense espresso note and the dark grapes and berries. The chocolate gives this malt a certain basic sweetness which is always "refreshed" by intense peppermint and eucalyptus. A very successful drop, I like it!

    • Nose
Dark, dried berries stand out powerfully from the Premium Snifter, oily drops stick to the glass wall while Malt shines in clear and bright amber in the glass. Lightly burnt caramel and tart roasted aromas mingle with sweet milk chocolate and ground nuts. My salivation is stimulated, a hint of sulfur blended with a sweet chocolate note and caramelized sugar. Oranges and cherries rise from the sweet fruit, dried dates and raisins marinated in brandy exude their wonderfully fruity bouquet. Creamy wood and the incredible sweetness are permeated by a light peppermint note, a hint of eucalyptus gives the nose a pleasant freshness. With its fruity and sweet aroma the nose invites to the first sip.
    • Taste
Spicy wood elements and dried berries dominate the first impression. The intense aromas on the tongue rest briefly, before a pinch of pepper spreads on the palate and sets in a slightly burning sharpness. Creamy, the malt spreads on the tongue, dark espresso spills into creamy and viscous chocolate. The second sip is noticeably creamier with the sharpness and the dark espresso aroma seconds later, almost numbing the tongue again. Black pepper burns on the tongue tip, spicy wood elements and intense dark fruit flavors again massively stimulate my salivation. With these powerful and sometimes tart aromas, the taste slowly transpires into the aftertaste.
    • Finish
Chubby warmth is distributed throughout the mouth, pearls dance on the tip of the tongue and the pepper shows its full power. Spicy wood and dark chocolate merge creamy on the palate, a touch of old walnut exudes its extremely nutty aroma. A slightly oily and rancid mouthfeel occurs, walnuts and chocolate play together. The scent of freshly brewed espresso returns, as do the fruity oranges and cherries. Creamy and with this rancid note, the finish sounds extremely slow and leaves coffee, pepper, walnut and chocolate on the tongue.

an excellent young yet very complex sherry bomb. Very successful. Luckily I bought a second bottle.
    • Nose
there Sherrybomb. With some water. Very intensive. Fruity, dark fruits, fruit cake, fig, plum, dark chocolate, caramel, something fresh like eucalyptus, and oak spice in the background. Blood orange. Nuts. Wonderfully complex
    • Taste
full, pleasant, round, the chocolate, vanilla, now rather dark whole milk, with some espresso. Then the fruits, the fruit cake with orange and nuts, roasted nuts. Spicy, and the alcohol comes to bear, but pleasant.
    • Finish
long, first sweet, then drying. It remains a tart oak spicy, with orange and some sherry, with walnut, walnut and caramel.

Very tasty and very interesting. Unfortunately, hardly any of the Brennereicharakter to guess, as well as the Rumnote personally tells me so. But who likes sherry boards with roasted aromas, should access.
    • Nose
Espresso, coffee, strong roasted aromas, Mon Cherie, rum With water, he is much more restrained
    • Taste
Milk coffee and milk chocolate, now it is much sweeter
    • Finish
Medium to long, the sweetness remains, as well as the roasted aromas
