again a very nice paul john but I have to say the official bottling single cask version I have tried was just as good and is muchhhh
    cheaper.

    • Nose
peaty and a little glue aroma but a pleasant one. like other johns this reminds me of laphroaig in a way. but it´s got more tropical fruit, it is maltier and I think a bit sweeter. some herbal aromas of dried herbes de provence. menthol and a hint of oak.
    • Taste
a very "bright" palate with smoke and tropical fruit, so we´re in the middle between laphroaig and bowmore. but it is sweeter than this
bowphroaig blend would be and there is this soft glue taste probably coming from the bourbon cask.
    • Finish
medium to long, harmonious and warming

  4. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Fascinating Paul John Single Cask, added my first SC of them, supposedly but also one of the few good as the dealer said. If he was not 6 years and for 110, - Euro, I would immediately access whether the uniqueness.
    • Nose
Tar fresh on the road, blueberry jam, but especially dark blue Hubba Bubba from the pack, car tires, with time deep plum must, cranberry sauce
    • Taste
Very vigorous, tires burn on the garbage dump, cardamom, blueberry jam, the interesting thing is how behind these dark and hard aromas emerge exotic spiced and fruits, some mango, banana, very unique combination of first sip and later exits
    • Finish
Long, engine oil like great old Caroni rums, Berries, camphor, clove
