This octomore claimed its very private stage when filling three sample sets. Notes of vanilla and orange flowed through the room.
    In Vitro:
Here, too, unfolds a wonderfully fruity-sweet fragrance bouquet. This is clearly the scent tree among the three, but without the negative connotations of the same at the reversing mirror of a motor vehicle. It dominates, as already mentioned, vanilla and orange. Glorious.
In the mouth it continues with a dreamy, fruity-sparkling taste explosion. A little lighter wine, of course, but the alcohol shows its tingling effect. You can drink it without water, but with a few drops of H2O it gets better and softer. You do not want to swallow it.
The finish is less long than # 0022, I would say "medium long", a word that is so often used these days to refer to anything that is not long, because you do not want to say "short". But still exciting.

Conclusion: A fantastic creation that Bruichladdich has succeeded here. I give him 89 points overall due to the short finish, but both mouth and nose earn over 90 points.

A really great malt, nothing for wimps!
    • Nose
Red wine, peat, sulfur - is that a Port Charlotte? Dirty, oily, meaty (umami), machine oil, seasoning; is that a tough Ledaig?
    • Taste
Red wine binomials full, umami, maggie, soup cubes, tannins, seasoning, caramel and strong smoke / peat! Super sweet and dry with water!
    • Finish
      Vinous, meaty and salty;

  3. Mascht scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

a great bastard, reminiscent of a Tobermory or Ledaig
    • Nose
Red wine, sulfur, boiled eggs, sweet, meaty, caramel malt
    • Taste
dense and complex, dirty, honey, peat, some oak
    • Finish
      forever, the peat remains

As my father in law would say "bloody belting".  Can't see the bottle lasting long.

The only bad thing about this is the size - like Oliver Twist I want more!
    • Nose
      Quite subdued.
    • Taste
I could pretend to be a buff and waffle on about green fields and warm beaches, but instead I'll say that you would expect a whisky this strong to be overpowering and given its youth to lack complexity, but it is pretty decent.
    • Finish
Wow - a long, lingering warmth - one of thoe whiskies you remember for all the right reasons.
