Whisky Reviews for Peat Freak 2009 MBl

  1. Achany scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

the nose is nice. very sweet, caramel, heather, just nice - but where is the peat? for that I had to sip it - and there it was. Gentle compared to the southern Islay Malts but still very nice. Salty, smoke, some bacon, combined with some sweets, some honey. The finish is quite longlasting, peat and fruits mingle nicley. the empty glass is full of peat. Just a very nice young dram! I really liked this one!

  2. Rowald Sweet Empire scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Peated Loch Lomond and the best L.L. I ever had. Smells quite young. Fresh peat. Not that interesting at first. Yet with the first sip you'll get a lot more. Full flavoured: smoky, motor oil, blackberry jam, red fruits. This is truly a great dram.
