    Super entry-level whisky in the world of maritime and slightly smoky whiskys. Offers enough complexity for its money. Definitely recommended.

      Maritime, slightly salty, peppery and spicy, subtle smoke, slightly sweet, the fruitiness (more citrus) comes more in the background, herbs, slightly nutty, a hint of cinnamon and ham
    • Taste

      strong, spicy attack, lots of pepper, chili, sweet, citrus fruit, subtle smoke, oak, slightly malty, maritime notes, salty, soapy, nutty, some honey and vanilla
    • Finish
      81 81
      short to medium length, spicy, slightly smoky, maritime notes, oak, chili, salty, significantly less fruity than the aroma and taste

    Talisker Storm Unaged Whisky was first presented in early 2013. So that it brings the Talisker-typical spice, it matures in roasted American oak barrels. It combines complexity and smoky depth and is traded as the smokiest whisky on the Isle of Skye.
    • Nose
      Spicy and intense. Fruity with orange, plus peat smoke and some oak.
    • Taste
      Spicy and powerful on the tongue. Dominant, peppery note (Chili Catch), with smoke and salt.
    • Finish
      Very long and spicy, with a pleasantly fruity note.

    Entry-level malt for Talisker, clear chilli catch that the distillery is said to be; you can try it, but you don't have to.

    for a little more there's the 10, which has a lot more to offer.
    • Nose
      light smoke from charred wood. Light fruits, green apples, fresh pears; some acidity from gooseberry and lime. Salty maritime.
      Nutmeg seasoning.
    • Taste
      peppery start / chilli catch, accompanied by the light smoke; Here, too, charred wood, still glowing embers.
      Tart notes spread, again some spice from nutmeg.
      Second sip: more fruit noticeable (in principle like in the nose), chili catch again.
    • Finish
      medium long, oak, light smoke, tart notes that almost swivel into a bitter note.
      Tannins are still on the tongue. But that's all there is to me ...

      Physalis, gooseberry, lemon, grapefruit, some wood, some ash and gum on the finish

    Not bad, but it tastes too short and too peppery-spicy in the aftertaste that just lacks fullness for my taste.

    Still cannot convince, he lacks variety and 'depth'.

    Is he the storm Talisker par excellence?
    Even at first impression he can not convince me. Life is too short for these drams.

      I have my problem with boys. That's exactly what comes with this Talisker, OK, ... a grape note of the darker kind comes over. From the announced smoke is less felt than expected. Vanilla and some furniture polish can actually hold their own.

      The smoke covers the spiciness and leaves it pale with a tendency to weakness, although supposedly 45.8%. No definite palate joy wants to come up, a little weak, (watery?) ... unfortunately can not convince me. Sorry.

      clearly for me a less good memory of a Talisker.

    Again, it is a re-tasting like the Talisker Skye and 10. On the whole very similar to the Talisker 10. Not quite as salty, but a bit more fruity. The light smoke note typical of Talisker is more noticeable in the finish than in the nose. I also still like it very well and it is currently worth 84 WB points (83/85/85).
