    What a dram !!!
    • Nose
Gummy bears, mango, lychee, lime zest, fruit salad with vanilla sugar, these yellow fruits are coated with sweet vanilla notes, floral scents, strawberry milk
    • Taste
Sweet and sour start, vanilla, yellow fruit again, effervescent powder, oak, passion fruit, very light dryness
    • Finish
A blend of vanilla, flowery yellow fruit notes and oak spice, beautiful long finish

    • Nose
Greek yoghurt with honey, citrus zests, grapefruit with peel, ginger, warm beeswax, geranium leaves, pineapple,
    • Taste
sweet exotic fruit basket with only subtle acidity, harsh forest honey, mint rich, resin, beautiful strong oak flavors, rosemary, pine needles, laurel, a Hach juniper, dark chocolate, grapefruit peel
    • Finish
Remains of exotic fruits, chocolate bitterness, tart oak notes like thickened tree sap - a combination of wax, pine needles and eucalyptus remains on the tongue for quite some time

  5. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

The nose is one of the best that I could smell so far. The rest of the whisky is delicious, too, but it does not get on your nose. A great matured old Lowlander.
    • Nose
Intense, spicy nose, oak, beeswax, honey, fruits, tropical, but also citrus. Crumpet. Everything so perfectly interwoven, dreamlike.
    • Taste
You notice the same age, beautiful woody notes, light tingling, honey fruits, some mint
    • Finish
The finish is very minty, citrus peel, bitter almond, marzipan, honey and slightly bitter in the end.

Conclusion: 89 points - "Awsome Fruitbomb". This great bladnoch has gotten the best on tap, its fruit and vanilla flavors. A really successful whisky. The "nose" alone would have earned 94 points. Please give the whisky time to develop! I am surprised that of the only 60 bottles are still available?
Many thanks to Oliver Späth from maltmountains for the sample.
    • Nose
Nose: Very fruity with grapefruit, lime, peach and apple. The fruit is wrapped in forest honey and was slightly warmed. Garnished with Bourbon vanilla. Almonds in the background, still green.
    • Taste
Palate: In the mouth nice fruity. Peach, honeydew melon, vanilla, wow. No woody note, not alcoholic. Here is a bit more almond.
    • Finish
Finish: Medium long, warm finish with lots of honey sweetness, vanilla and fruit

    Bladnoch 26 y.o. malt mountains No. 5, 1990 – 2016, bourbon barrel, 48,6%
Comment: Sweet and mature nose in great balance.
Creme brulee wit loads of vanilla, almonds, white peach, kumquat,
gooseberry, grapefruit, pear, cider, kirschschnaps, elder, lime dashes,
kurkuma and what not – in parts like a Nahe Riesling Auslese and
marzipan cake and Haribo foam mice (sorry!). The palate is equally
rewarding, and the oak is not dominant. This mild baby surfs on vanilla
and fruit but has enough power to render great aromas. It reminds me of
white-chocolate-glazed fruits at county fairs. A dessert in a glass. And
at a price around 165.- Euro this is a real steal. Hell of a pick, Oli!
Get the remaining bottles on malt mountain’s page, you won’t regret it.
    Score: 91
