the best I like the nose - cigar room and dessert .. beautifully matured, looks really old and noble - on the palate he became me after half the dram sometime a little langwelig - therefore I need no bottle
    • Nose
The first impression is sweet and very spicy - dried fruit mix with raisins, cherries, dates, cranberry with nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, pepper, neat tobacco, old leather later, a fruity acidity of red wine or balsamic - the nose is round - without alcoholic sting - appears lush and delicately creamy
    • Taste
syrupy sweet, flattering on the palate, very pleasing spreads spice - tobacco, a hint of cigarette ash, forest honey, subtly astringent tree sap, the texture is now even creamier, dark chocolate, rum raisins, nut flour, oak spice, mouth-filling roasted aromas
    • Finish
Tobacco, light dryness, tannins with a touch of bitterness but still in the delicious range - medium in length - a bit thin and flat (complain at the highest level) 2-3% more would really bring it

  5. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

What a thing. But of course that does not come as a surprise, because Wemyss has knocked out some old Islay crackers in the direction of the last 2-3 years. This one can definitely keep up, although I would really like to have felt a few more percent more, and I also say that as a big friend of (higher) NCS who drinks anything up to 60% without water. NCS is it, so eigtl. You can not complain. The notes are typical of old sherry Bunnas, also reminiscent of the brilliant OA 25Y (the old with more percent).
    • Nose
Fine sherry wine on a mahogany table, calvados apples, autumn leaves, cinnamon, cloves, cranberries, expensive leather, hint of cigar smoke, dark honey in between
    • Taste
Wow, what a bitter force! Everything wrapped in 95% dark chocolate, cranberries over rack of lamb, wholemeal cereals with raspberries, cloves, cigar box, nutmeg, ingenious noble sea salt notes in between, suddenly becomes extremely drinkable after just a little salivation, no wonder at under 46%, almost 3-5% too little after the first 10 seconds.
    • Finish
Very long, cardamom, clove, a few cranberries, leather and a certain surprising creaminess remain on the tongue. Even after 10-15 minutes honey and light sea air remain in the mouth.
