Hmm, a Sherry Cask? Can not really read it out? Bunnamerkmale? For me barely present ... altogether a little active barrel, fine flavors, you have to be patient and look for something, but then rewarded
    • Nose
quite closed, at first only a lot of licorice, licorice and leather, some apple, some lemon, acacia honey, cider, freshly cut beech hedge, dark chocolate; Slowly, the liquorice is less intense ... rose petals, delicate caramel, toffee, leeiichter smoke, rather suede
    • Taste
sweet-tingling spicy, grape juice, apple, lemon meringue, ginger, cinnamon, clove pepper, acacia honey, cider, lychee, star fruit in dark chocolate sauce, gingerbread spice, caramel, a bite in the beech twig, very fine leathery, green tea with a touch of bergamot, some yellow plum, dangerously tasty ... now some strawberry appears
    • Finish
medium-long, honey sweet, grape, apple cider, spicy with ginger and gingerbread spice, dark chocolate in espresso, leather, a touch of liquorice ... the finish for the first time the touch of Bunna-typical tree juice - sounds bitter-sweet .. and again: a touch of strawberry

I like it very much, but it also hits my taste very precisely. It's certainly not worth the 91P for everyone, you have to concentrate and go on an expedition, then this one has a great range of grades.
    • Nose
Herb garden, lavender, fennel, rosemary, seafood, salt water, light honey, white grapefruit, green apple, some licorice, grass and rose water, cedar wood
    • Taste
Nice for the 46%, sage, mint, fresh fish, grapefruit, peach, tangerine, kiwi, lime, melon, sweet malt, green apple, fine leather notes, green tea, a few chocolate chips, ginger, cinnamon, lemongrass
    • Finish
Meaty and long, leather, grapefruit, melon, seafood, licorice

  3. StyrianSpirit scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

The fact that this malt is said to have spent 28 years in a sherry butt is not noticeable in the nose; The bright fruits dominate, but the "Bunna herbal note" is pleasantly present. This phenomenon continues on the palate and on the finish, although the malt, the longer in the glass, is becoming more and more "mature". A damn good drinkable Bunnahabhain.
    • Nose
Green apple, citrus notes, smoke, a bit of marjoram. After some time, some semi-ripe kiwi is added, the smoky spice plays a stimulating bass line.
    • Taste
Very, very tingling. The lemony-sour fruitiness is complemented by beautiful spicy notes, the smoke is barely noticeable on the palate. This malt is really very, very tasty. Of course, "Süffig" is part of the whisky bullshit bingo repertoire, but it fits here.
    • Finish
The end of this Bunnahabhain stays close to the mouthfeel. Again wonderfully sour fruit flavors stand in the foreground, underlaid by fine herbs and instead of the smoke that could be heard in the nose, announce now subtle oak notes from the age of this single malts.

    Blind Tasting
    • Nose
Lieblich, elegant. Gelbe Äpfel, überreife Birne, ein Hauch Vanille. Etwas flüssiges Kerzenwachs. Frisch gemähtes Gras, Orangenblüten, Tulpen. Saftiger Zitronenkuchen mit Zuckerguss.
    • Taste
Fruchtig, ölig. Äpfel, Bananen, helle Trauben, Nektarinen. Mandeln, Marzipan, etwas Wachs. Weiße Schokolade, Milchkaffee.

  5. gallfux did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

It doesn't look like Sherry Butt and doesn't taste like it either. But that is not bad at first.
I like it better than the previously tasted Tropical Island (WID: 115148).
Now I'm not sad that I don't have a big bottle of it.
    • Nose
A fresh breeze on the water. Grain field in the morning dew. A little juniper. Freshly bent, young branches. Orange jam. Apricot peel. Lemongrass.
    • Taste
Herbal honey. Glucose. Relatively oily at first. Apples glazed in butter. Then comes the oak, which brings a pleasant but relatively clear flavor. That makes things drier. The fruits become more acidic and some herbs are added.
    • Finish
Bit of citric acid. Licorice. Grape seeds.

Is it really a sherry butt? Not the usual Bunna flavors, but it's good.
    • Nose
Floral. Green tea, citruses and honey. Closed bourbon nose.
    • Taste
Oily. Citruses, honey, fruits, matured oak, pepper and ginger. Touch of peat.
    • Finish
      Long, spicy, bittersweet.

Blind, I would never have typed a Sherrycask here - come over like a tender Bourboncask
    • Nose
Licorice, salt, seaweed, sour oak, roasted notes of cereal, slightly dusty in the dust, sweetness,
    • Taste
salty Bunnanote, sour oak, subtle sweetness, nuts, anise, creamy, pepper, mint, gentle but spicy
    • Finish
tender bittern notes, oak, salt - bunna herbs
