Grand Blair Ahtol, no two ways about it. Good strength as well. Around 180 EUR. Thank you, Peter of Anverness, for the sample!
    • Nose
The nose is sweet on Turkish Delight and the sugared peel of both oranges and grapefruit. Nice hints of white chocolate and eucalyptus. Icing sugar. A drop of balsamic and some sulatana. Apricot pastry. Very summery and fresh.
    • Taste
Sturdy arrival on the palate with all the fruit from the nose, upholstered with loads of spices. Chili pepper, nutmeg and a pinch of saffron. The balsamic returns. Citrus takes the lead, followed closely by peach on syrup.
    • Finish
The finish is medium long on more of the same, with a slight bitterness at the death.

The nose is top, the mouth and the finish a little less.
    • Nose
Beefy. Sacred power, beautiful presence, a little sherry, but nothing that dominates the whole.
    • Taste
Mouth more recessed, the nose foreshadowed much better.

165 € for a 21 year old Single Malt is not cheap. Especially at the finish a bit too bitter for my liking. I thought the nose was the best.
    • Nose
Milk chocolate (Kinder Surprise eggs, white on the inside and brown on the outside), raisins, orange, candied grapefruit.
    • Taste
Juicy fruity body on apricots but also pronounced spicy character with black pepper, balsamic vinegar and blood apple.
    • Finish
Half long, slightly drying with an (for me) too high acidity. The finish will soon get bored after a few drams from the bottle.
