http://kaypingers-whiskyblog.de/frontend/fullarticle.php?id=285 Color: sunlight / straw yellow Nose: A peaty lemon nose ! Very maritime with seaweed, seaweed, lots of vanilla, smoky wood, cold ashes and a touch of leather. After prolonged breathing metallic notes are added. Taste: Soft, salty, very "citrusy" and peppered with spicy chilli pepper. Mint, Chinese grass, notes of leather, green lime, vanilla and cardboard Finish: Pretty long and still spicy. Lemon, lime, herbs and vanilla as well as subtle hints of honey, soft cardboard and young wood. With notes of wet coal and ash fading away. 88 points N: 87P / G: 89P / F: 87P

An excellent dram which is a well selected Cask by Kirsch no doubt. A 25 year old Ardbeg also has its price but 700€ come on guys... I do not respect the price within my rate otherwise it would be more like 80 points. A price that would justify the quality and the name would be round about 300€ for me!

all in all my best Ardbeg so far but I have also not had too many yet.
    • Nose
sweet smokey nose: Peat, barbecue sauce, bacon & lemon
    • Taste
perfectly balanced dram which may remind in the mouth for several seconds. The harmony and game between peat and sweetness is excellent
    • Finish
      A very good smokey/sweet finish

I like the nose the most
    • Nose
Nose reminds of older Ardbegs from the 70ies. I get notes of chlorine, swimming pool, grappa, vanilla, lemons
    • Taste
vanilla, chewing on warm gravel, something between spent bonfire and cold cigar ash
    • Finish
Remings more of younger Ardbegs - gone relatively quick

Specially selected for the 40th Anniversary of Kirsch Whisky
