Nose

Starts very yeasty. Then a strong note of butter and sugar. Overripe dark fruit, caramel, cider vinegar. The nose is very dense, yet this is no "almost 1st fill-refill cask". It's slightly below medium Sherry. There is something artificial about it but in a very good way. A sort of rubbery-putty note.

Taste

Soft arrival on toffee, then some caramel and herbs. But it is hot and kinda nervous after that. Spicy oak and something that reminds very much of engine oil right before the finish.

Finish

Long on toffee, still hot, with some liquorice and herbs in the after taste.

Nose

Ahornsirup, dicke Süße, Früchtetee mit etwas Zimt drin, Kaffeebohnen, Sherry, Walnüsse, Rosinen, alles was man bei einem refill Sherry-Cask erwartet, Studentenfutter, die typischen reifen Orangen, später festes Weingummi

Taste

es beginnt mild, sehr langsam kommt ein Prickeln auf, er schmeckt sehr nussig mit einer Assoziation von trockenen Zweigen 

Finish

Traube-Nuss-Schokolade, alter gesetzter Sherry, mittelstarke Bitterkeit und recht lang im Abgang

Comments

Ein gut balancierter Malt, keine Sherrybombe aber dafür kommt der Brennerei-Charakter (vor allem die Orange) noch gut durch, geht sehr gut ohne Wasser

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Apple sauce and clotted cream, followed by juicy raspberries. A touch of fresh lemon meringue develops.

Palate: Gingerbread biscuits covered in icing. Mead and cider, fruity coffee and some meaty barley notes.

Finish: Drying though subtly floral, with a prickle of cinnamon lasting.
