After pouring a torrent of malt beer smell comes out of the glass. Accompanied by herb-sparkling grapefruit and yeast. A little breathing and the scents of hay, vanilla, pears and lychee. It is accompanied by a hint of hazelnut.
Mouth:
The alcohol is unfortunately not so well involved, the alcohol easily slices uncomfortable on the tongue. The Auchroisk goes in a watery direction. The malt is grainy, with a dash of grapefruit and strong malt. Fruit is to be guessed at best, in the mouth oak tartness and maltiness set the tone.
Finish: rather short, spicy and tart, again some grapefruit.
Not as watery-boring as other Speysiders in the age group, but also no revelation. A Glenfiddich offers for me simply a better price-enjoyment ratio.
