Easily quaffable Bunna, but rather one-dimensional. Around 95 EUR, which seems a bit steep for what you get.
    • Nose
The nose is rather dry, if you know what I mean. Loads of grain and mild peat dominate. Some play-doh, all the way in the back. Fresh bread and young cheese. Completely devoid of sweetness, with the exception of a touch of vanilla and some barley sugars.
    • Taste
The body is fine, while the palate is a lot sweeter than the nose promised. Vanilla, honey, barley sugars and some Reine Claude plums. A mild smokiness develops, but I would not call this one peaty. Reminds me more of woodsmoke than peat, in fact.
    • Finish
The finish is medium long, showing some spices.

  5. Toffie76 scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

Very pleasant nose vanilla and malty. Average length, complexity limited but all finesse. Alcohol well integrated. A little spice. Dry down in the final. . A touch of salt. Very good . With a little water everything is perfectly balanced and highlights the cereal and vanilla profile.

With its light peat smoke and ubiquitous vanilla, it reminds me of the official 12th anniversary. Even if its malty / vanilla side is rejuvenating it from its actual age, the mild / light peat blend works well. A peat accessible and easy.
    • Nose
Smoke, a light dry peat. A lot of sweet malt, and honeyed vanilla.
    • Taste
Spicy smoke, vanilla malt, grapes. Mirabelle juice over it.
    • Finish
Spices are softer. The smoke becomes lemony, almost tangy.

Taste like the original 12 year old minus the sherry influence. Needs more years in the cask in think, feels very young.
