SMWS Tasting Notes
Colour: An auburn beauty
Flavour Profile: Deep, rich & dried fruits
The tart and spicy nose was a teasing sign of things to
come. Mango chutney, charred pineapple chunks (on the barbecue?) and orange
barley sugars made for an excellent appetiser. The taste was cooling and minty.
One panellist found dried red fruits (cranberries and cherries), whilst warming
autumn spices (nutmeg and ginger) lent some depth to a raisin studded sponge
cake. With water, the nose developed to include chocolate coated Turkish
delight, runny honey and bananas with icing sugar. The taste was that of dried
banana chips, vanilla marshmallows and sweet, ripe cherries.
Drinking Tip: As an appetiser to get the taste buds going,
or with dessert as a sweet on sweet experience
