    (Notes from a blind tasting)
Powerfully bitter and acidified over something.
I guess he has 50-55% alcohol, from the bourbon barrel and is between 14 and 17 years old.

Thanks for the sample to StyrianSpirit!

Pineapple, slightly fermented, lemon wedges in honey, whole
      a sea wort, a hint of mineral-chalky.
    • Taste

strong tingling in the entire mouth! The alcohol is clearly noticeable and provides flavor,
the whole thing is rounded off sourly.

The lemons or zest notes now dominate with firework-like tingling.
With a few drops, the whole thing becomes extremely salty and even more acidic, so I associate oysters with lime juice.

Fruits in the nose. Cloudberry jam. Apricots. The alcohol does not hold back. Williams Christbirnen Brand. In addition an aromatic oak, which even hints at some smoke. In the mouth then again the fruits. They look a little sweeter and more intense. Again hints of fruit brandy. Then oak notes. On leaving the fruit subsides and the aromatic oak remains.

A malt that I like pretty much. The aromatic oak, I think really good. The only downer is that the alcohol is a bit brittle.

The best ex-bourbon barrel whisky I've ever had. With a little water, vanilla and coconut are more prominent and embed apples and apricots wonderfully. Coconut and vanilla are also stronger in the nose, it can be said that the character changes. My recommendation: First, absolutely undiluted, try in cask strength. Clearly a malt for strong men & women.
    • Nose
A whole fruit bouquet rushes to meet you. Apples, grapes, sweetness, vanilla, peach, apricots. I have to sort that first. Uncommonly intense, even the 57.8% percent alcohol can be felt.
    • Taste
A great start, cask strength just. But: Immediately there is also the fruit, vanilla, coconut, and again the sweet and sour apple and the apricot. A fruit basket of bright fruits, strong prepared, "tipsy" one would say in Austria. Ex-Bourbon barrels in this quality and cask strength are already something wonderful. Once again, the Viennese pot-still whisky aficionados have chosen this excellently.
    • Finish
You take the tipsy fruit basket home with you. Incorporated. The medium-long to long finish pleases most sustainable.
