Whisky Reviews for Aberfeldy 1999 GM
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.69 points
- ... very nice Aberfeldy-typical honey note, was amazed when I read, that's the 1st. Fill sherry casks were ... I would not have thought of that ... 87 Pts.
- B (86 if you must); I love fino (or other light sherry) maturation, so this hits the fruit/savory contrast and semi-dryness I look for. What I’m not seeing, on the other hand, is what Aberfeldy is bringing to the table here. So it’s nice (especially for the price/age) but not spectacular. I’ll see what else this series has to offer.
Pretty full with chocolate, apple cider, orange, raspberry, cedar, and leather.
Orange, elderflower, cedar, bitter cherry, and leather. A tad less rich than the nose but not thin by any means.
Bitter orange, cedar, dry chocolate, a little bitter medicinal note.
- TASTING NOTE LMDW Color: straw yellow. Nose: subtle influence of Sherry, aromas of toasted malt, orange and lemon peel. Palate: notes of orange, red apple, grapefruit and chocolate whole milk. Finale: medium length and dry.
- Gets 95 points from Jim Murray and it is easy to see why.
