One of my first whiskys and, even after such a long time, still a very balanced delicacy that I like to drink.
At the beginning clearly dark and sweet berries on the nose, which can also have a slightly sour touch from time to time. This is followed by campfire smoke and smoked fish. The pepper is pungent, the malt is herbal, spicy and dry like cinnamon. There is also some old wood far away.
Lots of pepper in the mouth, although the whisky remains light and has a somewhat drying effect. It's smoky and dry like embers with cold ashes. Then the sweet berries and grapes come and everything just keeps getting sweeter.
The finish is again spicy, sweet and dry with a light smoke. After a while, sweet blackberries will appear again.
