I have tasted this bottling with an older bottling. The 1999 was a little darker and stronger, but both give nothing.

Tasty - very well matured - looks much older than the number on the bottle
    • Nose
First malt, roasted, nuts and sweet herbal candy vanishes this first nose and behind it is round sweet fragrant multi-layered oak, buttery with lots of vanilla and light resin appeal, acts in the nose like wood sanding dust in a carpenter workshop with a noticeable mint note, plus orange and a A hint of lemon, followed by a slightly fruity acidity - which is slightly reminiscent of dry wine - the nose is elegant, well-balanced and delicious - fresh but still ripe - I had this malt as a blindsample - I would have sorted him most likely to the Glenfarclas personalities quite certainly not to Edradour
    • Taste
sweet spicy nuts, malt and strong tart, not bitter oak, with some chewing coffee, sawdust, resin, mint - fresh and spicy on the tongue and palate - lemons and oranges to chocolate and dry sherry, peppery spicy vegetal - the oak dances on the tongue - not alcoholic but strong
    • Finish
warming soft slightly dry in the mouth Cocoa, honey, a little fruity oak - really much oak

that is some Sherry influence! grapes, dark fruits, raisins, moldy wine cellars, spices, sweet and a hint of pepper as well. Real fine stuff!
