SMWS tasting notes:The initial scent had plenty of polished wood, lit pure beeswax candles, hessian sacks filled with coffee beans and pear drops in a paper sweetie bag. With a little time very different aromas emerged like marinated sardines with fennel, raisins and pine nuts as well as acacia and hazelnut raw nut honey. The taste was like grilled pickled hot dogs with a horseradish mustard relish and sea salted toffee by the side. Water added lavender bath salts, Parma violet cupcakes and pear sorbet with runny honey on the nose and on the palate a refreshing glass of ‘Berliner Weisse’ flavoured with raspberry syrup.
DRINKING TIP: Warm sunny late afternoon – is it beer o’clock yet?
