- Nicely suprised ! Complex, there's time to be spent deciphering this dram.
Old school and integrated, notes are much more "melted" than in most modern malts. So this beautiful whole is slightly meaty, slightly coffee-ish, slightly spicy and sulfur and paprika. Everything is quite subtle actually. Then come fresh forestian tones : wet mosses and nettle, thyme. It is slightly sulfury indeed, but it takes a nice guise : mushrooms and chick peas. Very nice but also very middle-ground.
More presence here, almost biting, full of legumin and earth, pears and leather. Very evolutive, I couldn't pick up as many notes as I wanted, because they kept transforming. Sweet rosmeary, musc. Both elegant and masculine. Still subtle though, it's not a flavour bomb of any kind.
Long, in the same vein, with more obvious wood now, which isn't actually a problem, as it structurates the whole. Dirty wax : definitely old school.
