Wow, what a BenRiach! The nose is extremely sweet and fruity and the onset of taste is amazing. So much power and "bums" I have rarely experienced. Compared to the 2005 PX-BenRiach this Port BenRaich has much more sweetness and fruit in the nose and a much heavier onset in the taste. A great part, I like it very much!
    • Nose
A subtly sour but fruity note rises immediately after pouring out of the glass. Red grapes and peaches mingle with sugary honey and roasted cereals. The beguiling sweetness briefly shows a hint of oranges and lemons. The alcohol is harmoniously integrated despite almost 60%, I now imagine smelling cherries. Slowly, the nose becomes slightly sprittig, but is still characterized by sweet fruit.
    • Taste
Shortly the Benriach rests on my tongue, then the full force hits spicy wood and sour fruit! Beads dance in the entire mouth area, wooden sharpness heats the palate. Dry notes of wood, creamy milk chocolate and orange peel show up as the pungency fades away. Wet leaves and walnut aroma are prominent, tobacco leaves and burned logs follow.
    • Finish
Still sharpness heats neat the palate. Slowly spicy wood flavors come to bear, fruity berries and subtle tobacco aroma are also available again. For a long time, the finish exudes a chubby mouthfeel until slow tobacco leaves and a touch of leather follow. The finish sounds slow and leaves an earthy, wet deciduous and walnut aroma. Dry, dry woody aroma remains.

Complex malt that evolves with every sip. Be sure to drink with a little water. Very nice whisky, I like it very much.
    • Nose
The first impressions are heavy sweet brandy and port wine varieties, followed closely by cocktail churches, honey, raisins / grapes and white chocolate. later the nose becomes spicier - associations with wood chips Add water: sweetened grapefruit, hazelnut and butter. None of the flavors dominate the others.
    • Taste
Slight tingling at the tip of the tongue. Very sweet with dark berries. creamy mouthfeel with hazelnut flavor With water: more caramel, some nougat and maybe cranberries ..
    • Finish
Long bitterness at the first sip, the second time less bitter and more caramel with water: the bitterness becomes much more discreet

Really good whisky for only 11 years. It was a really good port keg that brought in intense aromas. Above all, the Toffifeenote (vanilla, chocolate, caramel and hazelnut) was the highlight.
    • Nose
Dark red berries, rum cherries and a lot of Toffifee - with water the fruity note becomes even more intense, the whisky becomes more complex. Wood aromas and cigar fragrance (unlit) are added.
    • Taste
Strong onset, very oily and sweet. The Toffifee is even more intense, especially the hazelnut and the chocolate. Grapefruit and honey come out with some water. And again and again this Toffifeenote ... awesome!
    • Finish
Chocolate, creamy and long finish ...

Strong BenRiach with intense port aromas, which requires patience and possibly some water to open it up.
    • Nose
Sweet and mature first impression on the nose. In addition, a fine fruity acidity that reminds me of oranges. Over time, more and more dark chocolate.
Takes time and possibly some water to open it.
    • Taste
Strong start. Gently tingles on the tongue. Dark fruit aromas of ripe plums. Lots of dark chocolate that leaves a dry, furry impression on the tongue.
    • Finish
Medium length, warming and pleasantly spicy without becoming bitter.

Actually, I'm not a big fan of such young loaded malts.
It takes a few minutes, but then comes a sweet and sour fruitiness. That's not bad. If altogether also alcoholic.
In the mouth now very young and alcoholic with little depth. I do not like it at all. The moisture is not so present anymore.
    Nothing I need again.

The nose is dominated by alcohol. But after a few minutes that will be better. Then come brandy, plums, rum raisins, honey and port. In addition a beautiful red wine sign, ripe cherries and grape nut chocolate. But a little water does the trick well, the aromas are even more intense and the already described mix is joined by oranges and butter biscuits.
    • Taste

Something metallic! Strong onset, tingling and spicy with pepper and allspice, cherries and grape nut chocolate, Werther's real, brandy, baked cocoa and some tobacco. Then add some roasted hazelnuts. Tasty, but despite water a bit too impetuous.
    • Finish
      88 88
Creamy, peppery, warming with a lot of grape and nut choco, brandy notes, tobacco and more roasted walnuts
