Whisky Reviews for Benromach 1949

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 89.25 points

  1. Ralph Hiltrup did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

    Producer`s Tasting NotesBright

orange gold in colour this exceptional Speyside Single Malt Whisky is

mellow and rich. It has delicate, perfumed notes, with spices and a

subtle smoky edge with traces of menthol and hessian. On the palate it

is coating, with an oily texture, where oak and peat smoke flavours

combine. The finish is slightly sweet with a hint of smoke and malt.

  2. QuarterCentury did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Very few malts can stand anything like as much ageing as this Benromach

has managed. Which makes it all the more amazing that the whisky inside

the bottle can still seem so fresh. Of course, over fifty-five years,

the angels get to take more than their fair share - only eighty-three

bottles were yielded from the cask - but what remains is a fantastic

concentration of flavour and an almost eerie youthfulness.
