Whisky Reviews for Invergordon 1988 TSCL

  1. Andytka3 scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

N- Concentrated honey and berries overtone with fresh cut grass and cereal porridge underlay. Strength are felt with boiled spices and sour aged wood. Some soapiness developed but with little harm. Adequate, pleasant and soothing, very speyside-r. Classic breakfast dram, just that this is a rather old and precious one. (87/21)

P- Strong English breakfast tea with extra spoon of sugar, scones with mixed berries spread. Sweet as it should be as grain whisky and would be perfect for those with sweet toothed. (85/19)

F- Medium, get even sweeter, spilled honey, pickled ginger, peppery and woody, all the above with additional layer of sweetness, though some waxy notes developed for layers. (86/20)

B/B- 86/20. Carry thru nervously with strength, which I can see not very much left prior to the bottling.

    Cr- 3, Fr- 1, Fl- 1, Pt- 0, Ft-1, Sp-0, Wd- 2, Wn-2, Sc- 1

    Weighted Rate- 80pt
