    Look at how many shoplinks...
Everybody wants to get rid of this bottle.
The most unwanted whisky of 2016.
    Bravo HP!

[April, 2017]  Another one of these hyper-stylish new whisky releases designed for distracting the customer from the quality of its content.  And they did it for a good reason as the whisky inside is average quality at best. The nose is quite one-dimensional mainly on toffee.  The arrival in the mouth is weakish and unimpressive (not mouth-coating at all).  On the palate another unbalanced flavour spike, this time on roasted mocca beans as you get in some coffee shops as a side snack on iced coffees (very strange, never had this in a whisky before).  Interesting taste, but again very simple.  And the finish is unbelievable ... short, after 10 seconds it is gone completely.  All in all a rather weakish release, only to remember for this strange mocca beans taste...

If you bought this as an investment be cautious:  My best guess is drinkers will not pay more than 40-60 Euros for it once the current whisky bubble bursted...

PS:  Do not get me wrong - if you like this and you are willing to pay more than 225 Euros to enjoy this dram this is absolutely okay.  But if all the really delicious whiskies stocked in private collections all over the world flood the market (in a bubble burst, as happened with the new economy dotcom-shares in 2000) the prices will adjust to pre-boom levels...

Starts pretty OK, but the finish is a bit odd - I liked the HP Ice much better

Fresh wineish attack, green fruits, apples, pears, grapes, limes, whiffs of glue - pretty OK
    • Taste

Little punchy, fruity, subtle sweetness, also some sourness, white wine, hints of cork, books

Medium short, warm, a little bit of old wine casks and old socks

There is coffee and smoke, toffee and wood. All embeded in a growing dryness on the palate. In the aftertaste the sweetness grows. Toffe, shortbread and some spices with clove, pepper and dark roast coffee. Quite balanced but not a dram to remember for long.

A pretty bad offering, even for a port-flavored whisky, which to me has always been a bit weird, unnecessarily sweet, and for this one, very rough and slightly uneven. Probably will be hesitant to drink it again.

N- Intriguing antiseptic open up to heavily roasted malt, warm rice smoke and preserve ref fruits of strawberry jam. Caramel sweetness developed to custard like consistency. (87/21)

P- Sea notes that swims with orange peel, earthiness of raw peat instead of smoke on palate. Get quite oily with oak unleash the layer of fruitiness and spices. (86/20)

F- Medlium-long, delicate with lemony coat, lightly charred ashy notes, with berries on retro-breath. (87/21)

B/B- 87/21. Lack gripping element for that bit of oomph.

A good whisky from HP, but priced completely covered. Compared to the HP 17 ICE, which offers for the extremely high price at least one outstanding flavor development of a Bourbon cask storage, one seeks this special note here at the FIRE in vain.

typical HP spiciness, "rolled up" in a light hint of fruit flavors, very subtle, hardly any oak (I was a bit surprised "
