Finish could be better though; too much bitter wood notes (which is actually quite a valid reason not to bottle this at cask strength...).
A fairly simple but fruity and honied nose. Vanilla, honey, apples, pears, barley sugar, faint nutty oiliness, a little grassy and a mild bitterish wood note.
Honey, vanilla, apples and pears again, some white pepper and an already clearer wood bitterness. Still pretty palatable though.
Medium length and actually the part that brings this whisky down somewhat. It's a bit flat with not much else going on besides some quickly dissipating honied fruitiness and a lingering alcohol feel with oak wood tannins.
