    All -round package of figs.
    • Nose
      figs
    • Taste
      figgy taste
    • Finish
a bit tannic in the finish, possibly medium

In the nose, the aromas are still really fun, the taste loses significantly diluted depth and the finish is lax. You are not used to this from the SMWS.
    • Nose
Vanilla, sour cream, cotton candy, bright fruits, vanilla pudding, the 58.2% can not be felt in the nose, light spices, bouillon cubes, then diluted grape must, light balsamic and a little malt
    • Taste
Peach, Katjes yoghurt gums, but quite rough and spicy, with watery floral
    • Finish
surprisingly short, there comes a little bit more olive oil, slightly sour

nose: intense bitterness of medicinal plant extracts, very tart aromas, tannins, with plenty of time in the glass, delicate fruit notes, some oak, with some water: freshly mown wild meadow with herbs and sap Taste: Bitterness as of bile is above all, light sweetness, a lot of oak, pleasing in the mouth but the alcohol remains clearly with some water, malt, tobacco, Departure is long woody, spicy slightly bitter, and I like the best Conclusion: there are quite delicious notes, only the bitterness is always there and thus the drop is not my case

I have not had a Dailuaine from the sherry keg so often ... never before. And sherry keg I think not so great .. actually.
But this is really a fine malt. Strong ... ohja .. spicy ... oh yeah and a bit nasty too. The latter may be due to age. The nose, when sweetened with alcohol, is elegant and harmonious. Very fruity and sweet. And that's exactly what you get on the palate - plus a pinch of spicy oak. Glorious. This is one of those malts where you just bought a bottle and wish you had a second order. Great malt for a really decent price.

Well, where Oloroso is, I am a mystery, understand the SMWS ratios low score here in the base, I'm also not convinced.
    • Nose
Milk honey, balsamic, cheesy, furniture polish, walnut, alcoholic, of course, undiluted, young oak and barley, strawberry sweetness
    • Taste
Without water extreme sweetness with piquant spice, sweet woods with honey droplets, cotton candy with chilli powder, glazed bananas in caramel, candy and young, rugged oak edge. With water continues the chillinote, the sweetness continues towards banana with vllt. a touch of yellow plum in the direction of Armagnac, all in alcohol until it stopped. If you let it in the mouth then continue to water heavily, it will be nice honey soft and tastes like honey with barley, is really better then.
    • Finish
Dry, barley-dry with young oak, medium long but rather by the sharpness

SMWS tasting notes:The nose represents a classic meeting of barley and oak – complex sweetness (honey and raisin flapjacks, Cheerios, Cadbury’s Whole Nut, chocolate-coated foamy bananas) and pleasant woody notes (new bedroom furniture, polished cedar). If sweetness dominates oak on the nose, the palate reverses this – honey sweetness swells on silky textures, but oak delivers gentle ginger and sweet chilli spice, barrel staves and balsamico. With water, the nose becomes grassy – sunshine on hay bales and boxed breakfast cereal. The reduced palate is deep, penetrating and rewarding, with the bitter-sweet character of balsamic strawberries, marmalade, Jaffa cakes and vitamin C on malt extract.

DRINKING TIP: To accompany classic films or books.
