    Lots of bourbon cask, natural caramel, grassy bitterness, Arran style)
    Ok, there is age, smoothly and solidly!

      Nice, clean Bowmore. Pleasant ashy smoke that combines great with the sweetness of candied fruits, vanilla and flowers. Then there are notes of fresh, wet wood.
      One hardly notices the well integrated “full proof” alcohol.
      Make it fun to sniff.
    • Taste
      87 87
      The taste confirms what has been sniffed out. The malty sweetness dominates
    • Finish
      89 89
      Long, herbal finish which, together with the strong, sweet vanilla notes, wrestles for the sovereignty of interpretation

    Very delicious, just whipped candy. Christmas, for sweets. Luxurious degree, bar option.
    • Nose
      88 88
      Brightly fruity, dessert, mineral, seafood, vanilla, biscuits, muffins, vegetables, chocolate (chocolate muffin), citrus peel, mint chill, dichlorophos, peat, mushroom zhylene, damp basement, ash, cigars, sauerkraut / cabbage ... And a bunch of different nuances that I simply can not identify.
    • Taste
      91 91
      Sweet, practically candied, round, pepper, meat, peat, candied fruits, citrus, smoked and ash.
    • Finish
      89 89
      Consistently in flavor. Long, warming, sweet-fruity, banana, soot, peat, coal.

    Vanilla, tropical fruits, salt and smoke in a very good balance.
    This bottle didn't last long. A very nice example of a clean bourbon matured Bowmore. The OB Bowmores nowadays dont have such a fruity profile as this one has. Recommended.

    Does not need water for me. Wonderful whisky, just my thing. The price (70 € 02/2017) is fair for me.

      Campfire, vanilla kipper, caramel, white pepper
    • Taste
      sweet pears, vanilla, coconut, again the campfire smoke
    • Finish
      Caramel, pepper, nutmeg, salty

    This is the wrong whisky that GlenSikkes is refering to. He copied the notes for Br6 but this is BW6.

    Note by producer;

    Bottled from a small batch of casks from a single vintage, Br6 is what whisky from this distillery is about – fruity, spicy and complex. It’s more approachable than previous releases, thanks to its 50.4% ABV, but add a drop of water to see all that it has to offer.

    Cask details;
    Distillates from 1992 matured in five Refill Hogsheads.

    Tasting Notes;

    Nose
    Green and grassy to start, with sweet and sour notes of orchard fruit creeping in behind. As it sits in the glass, sweet spice develops.

    Palate
    Dryer than other Br releases, but still sweet and fruity, with vanilla, honey-drizzled lemons and a touch of freshly cut grass. Water brings out nutmeg and cinnamon, as well as sweet baked apples.

    Finish
    Sweet vanilla fades to dry spice.

    Red

    This sixth batch of Bowmore is new and only arrived in Belgium in the first week of November 2016. The nice thing about this is that was composed by Mariella Romano, the Specialty Drinks ambassador that presented this to us the week before during a tasting. She was allowed to fool around with four casks from 1999. The result is a Bowmore that is quite different from the previously tasted Bw4.

    The nose is tropically sweet on fruit, although less outspoken than the Bw4. This one has a lovely dirty edge that I quite appreciate. Liquorice wood, marzipan and a salty lining give it depth. So it is less clean, but a lot more interesting imho. I even get a hint of butane gas, tar and cigar ashes.

    It is surpringly waxy on the palate and immediately goes down the tropical road. It is more ‘red’ if you know what I eman. I get some mango, papaya and even a couple of strawberries. The smoke is grand, even though the peat is less outspoken than on the nose. This is all about tropical fruit and I love it.

    The finish is very long, smoky and sweet. After half an hour it still lingers on the tongue.

    Excellent Bowmore on all levels: nose, palate and finish are all more than simply good. And while 65 EUR is still not cheap for half a liter of Bowmore, it is a lot more affordable than the Bw4. And this one is even better, in my opinion.

    A beautiful malt in which the flavors are well integrated. Despite everything, he has slight corners and edges that make him very interesting.
    • Nose
      Solid smoke of an outgoing fire, a salty sea breeze, tobacco, old leather, toffee, honey and some cinnamon
    • Taste
      Smoked bacon, vanilla, citrus, coconut, a hint of salt and the old leather is back. Above all lies a peat fire.
    • Finish
      Slightly smoky, Bourbon vanilla, black pepper and slightly salty.
