Prominent rich sherry notes on the nose, with some nutty and lightly smoked spirit lurking behind. A few drops of water (which made it very cloudy) brought forward more barley and oak. It noses considerably older than its actual age. Very nice. Much more evidence of youth on the palate, where the sherry can't fully mask the young and slightly rough/hot edges. A hint of drying peat and some chilli pepper keeps it interesting though. Slightly bitter finish. Great nose, but the palate and finish would have benefitted from a few more years in the cask.
