  1. Robinzon25 scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

Conclusion: worthy of whiskey. Of the three samples of the "party fortress", I liked this one the most.
    • Nose
Aroma: filled with hints of spices, malt and almonds. Feels a light smoke, lemon, wet paper. After a few minutes, the nuances of the old leather and barnyard appear. Super!
    • Taste
Taste: salt, iodine, smoke, hot pepper, ginger, apple pits.
    • Finish
Finish: medium duration, moderately smoky, peppery, slightly salty, with lemon sour, note of iodine and delicate effect of oak.

Tasty and complex one. In comparison to NAS this one is stronger, sharper and has better variety.

A quick break out on a sunday afternoon. It is a sunny warm day, early autumn. The smallforest is not spectaculair, but the combination of fragrances of autumn leaves, wood, apples and spices makes it a pleasant and accessible trip.

still a bit young, quite some alcohol, nice combination of red peppers and pear.

Aroma: first closed, gray bread with cumin, caramel, a little vanilla, honey, sea notes, sea breeze, used engine oil, fish oil, citrus candies, green apple, smoke in the distance, minerality.
Taste: prickly, spices, vanilla, unrefined oil, honey, caramel, herbal medicinal tea.
Finish: warming, spicy, peat, minerals, oak, sweet-bitter, longer than average.
    Rating: 84-85
Bottom line: again a very good sample, but now with a slight touch of Ayla and minerality.

A little disappointed in the end because the power is poorly mastered, a name justification that is slow in coming and a dram in the end where we take pleasure on the bitter chocolate / pepper combo.
    • Nose
Pretty dry. At rest, there are notes of baked apples with cinnamon. Dried fruits. Butter too. Like his brother, a very accessible and already very readable nose. Some jolts of red fruits also grapes. But also strawberry, I write what I want. A greedy nose but more fruity-sweet than spicy. The more you let it open, the more the spices arrive, the black pepper in the lead. An earthy side too. A nose that finally justifies the name of the whiskey. Difficult to smell now because the power is present after its 1 / 4h opening. I would have liked a mix of scent families but spices have definitely taken precedence over everything else.
    • Taste
A little too alcoholic for my taste. I immediately find the earthy side, there are notes of pure bitter chocolate VanHouten style. Very astringent! Spices actually carve the lion's share, report to the king
    • Finish
The sweet side is again present. Notes of salt and pepper bring some persistence but little heat and therefore little length for such ABV.
