Sip a dram make on my birth year on hatch day deem appropriate.

N- A lot of green meadow, rose petals, oxidized eucalyptus oil, just herb and camphor, not the menthol. Cool breeze of leafy and branches fragrant, thick buttery vanilla, nutty, book, cedar, cigar and even some wood smokes. Oldies wood characters that are rare and only can be found in old dram like this.

P- Packed with luxury honey sweet woody flavour, sweet corn flakes. Wood phenol developed with more pepper, camphor and hue of spent match stick. Old wood and sweet grain works well here. Delicious, but lack the width to greatness.F- Long and minty, orange, apple, apricot with pepper with medium dry, lightly tannin coating.

Seems that this whiskey has some wood influences from the barrel (because of the high age). But at the same time it is not disturbing at all, because both in smell and taste, there is such a palette of smells and tastes that it makes a nice combination, really delicious grain.
    • Nose
When pouring in: Velpon glue. Leave a minute, and now: Still glue, but now also tobacco, bread, honey, caramel. Full and pleasant smell.
    • Taste
Raisins, slightly peppery, tobacco. Slight bitterness, wood influences / age? Stinging, fresh, full flavor. Chewing gum sweetness
    • Finish
Slightly peppery now, long aftertaste. Some wood influences, bit of bitter weather. Dryer. Also citrus.

Not really my thing, but saying that i still enjoyed the experience.
    • Nose
Toasted brown bread, old leather bag, sticky toffee pudding ale, some well rotted leaves and shagg tobacco.
    • Taste
It's quite smooth and woody, there is some walnut and coffee. The grain is tamed very well, there is some dryness but it fits the overall profile.
    • Finish
The finish is short to medium, dry with some coffee on the death.

Years ago I used to dislike grains because of the glue in the nose. I got quite used to that, but I still find this one a bit less good than some of its siblings due to this characteristic. It's still really good though, and then again that tobacco note is in its favour.
    • Nose
Glue, raspberry, tree bark, caramel, apple and tobacco. Water releases cigar boxes, but with more of it moss and perhaps even mould, so perhaps this one was in the cask a bit too long.
    • Taste
Tobacco, cocoa, vanilla, tonic, apple, yellow raisin and smoke.
    • Finish
      Toffee, tonic and tobacco.
