- Well, I think it's finally time I can talk about this bottle. I don't know why it didnt get as much attention amongst the community; I feel it was severely underrated.
Refill sherry, what can I say, absolutely beautiful! ????
Nose: Sweet on the arrival, opens up into celerey juice, rotting vegetables (like 24yr ob single cask from 2019, yes! I did side by side them together in one sitting) loads of Salinty, seafood, fresh oysters - dash of lemon and there is a petroleum note that lingers on the horizon. Back to the sweetness, kiwis, lemons, tangerines/clementines. Wow! What a sensational nose, the spirits character seamlessly integrates so well with cask, and there is no dominating factor. Balanced!
(benefits from a few drops of water)
Palate: light body, bursts of flavour, salts, lemon and clementine, tiny hints of petroleum/chemical (chalk aspirin). Very dry on the finish, like a trocken wine, but with hints of sweetness and oak, medium long finish. Absolutely amazing! I would categorise this being a clean springbank, but still holds true to the character of the distillery. I can say, one of my favorite profiles to have experienced.
If you're fortuante enough to try this, you won't be disappointed!
Fyi, I bought the bottles after tasting it, i enjoyed it that much.
