  1. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Exciting hybrid of Bourbon and Islay. Without peat probably not unlike an American whisky. The station wagon but fits.
    • Nose
Sweet, vanilla, pine needles, peat, the ethereal smoke of Port Charlotte gives here in fact burnt fir branches, in addition to nutmeg, cloves, the fresh oak logs, especially mimt water it becomes sweet and bourbon similar, if the smoke were not.
    • Taste
Purely peppery, adhesive, strong woody notes. With water gentler, more spices, but also next to the peat oak much on the border to bitterness.
    • Finish
Smoky, lots of wood, some glue, bitter, cloves and other from grandma's spice cupboard. The smoke survives the oak.

    • Nose
Very intense first impression. The alcohol cools and tingles something in the nose. First, a strong aromatic smoke plume rises. Then sweet wine. Almost like grape juice. And then clearly milk chocolate comes to light.
    • Taste
Very creamy and strong due to the high alcohol content. Furry coating on tongue and palate. Restrained sweetness. Instead, dark berries and strong dark chocolate.
    • Finish
      Dry. Dark chocolate. Long warming.

Wow! What a board! With this Port Charlotte from the Mirco-Provenace series Bruichladdich has managed a really powerful and at the same time incredibly interesting malt. Aromas of melted dark chocolate, spicy coffee roasted aromas, a typical Islay smoke and warming sweet notes make a great composition. The last Dram from the unfortunately far too small bottle I save myself for a particularly cold and rainy day, because this whisky is ideal!
    • Nose
Immediately after pouring, malty-sweet smoky aromas, sweet printen, raisins, cashews and a little bit of chocolate flow together with peppery and leathery-sweet oak flavors. Shortly afterwards follow creamy coffee roasted aromas, some cinnamon and vanilla pastry notes. For 63.5% vol, the alcohol is very pleasantly integrated, even if he is naturally present. Liquid dark chocolate sets the tone after the first sip, carried by aromatic, freshly roasted cereal and caramelized candy sugar.
    • Taste
Here, the cask strength shows its full power, pushing forward a wonderful Islay sweetness (juniper berries and citrus fruits), a maritime salinity and spicy earthy oak flavors to the front.
    • Finish
Now an intense camp fire smoke, earthy juniper berries and dry woody notes spread like chewing espresso beans in the mouth. In addition, again and again subtle citrus flavors (oranges with cloves) and a maritime salinity out. After that, spicy oak, glowing clouds of smoke and some chocolate are left eternally in the mouth.

BIg whisky. The 6 month french virgin oak finish has given phenomenal concentration to the brilliant base distillate.

    • Taste
Powerful. Sweet peat, cocoa, pine and palm, juniper and ash.
    • Finish
      Long with cocoa and ash
