    Colour: amber.
Nose: light rottenness, brie cheese, light dried fruits, caramel, dark chocolate, coffee and tobacco.
Mouth: light wood smoke, chocolate, grass, spices, dried fruits, brie cheese and light rottenness.
Finish: long and dry with spices, oak, chocolate and brie cheese notes.
Westland Sherry Woods is a very good balanced, tasty and interesting whiskey. I like very much it’s rottenness and brie cheese notes. I gave 88 points.

Tasted in an online blind tasting competition (Westland vs. Penderyn) on 8/10/2016.
    • Nose
Sultanas, raisins, melasse (thanks Steven!), hint of apples, caramel fudge, and a hint of rubber band. Note: at the start it also smells a bit like nail polish; it needs about 15 minutes to open up in the glass in order to make those rough edges disappear.
    • Taste
Nicely balanced in the mouth; slight waxy mouthfeel. Nuts galore! Narrowing down towards walnuts when swallowed.
    • Finish
Not that long; slightly spicy, nutty, and at the end a hint of candy chain (Dutch: kralenketting).
