    If you drink it in small sips, it is much more pleasant and drinkable. Still, it's too extreme for me from here.
    • Nose
      Diluted to around 50%: Not much of a difference to undiluted. Maybe a little more cautious.
    • Taste
      Diluted to around 50%: simply numbs the tongue for the first few seconds. Then (with more saliva) very similar to the 48% dilution.
    • Finish
      Unchanged with an emphasis on spiciness.

    The smell is surprising, but as an overall impression, I wouldn't recommend diluting it down that far. So far I've liked 43% and 45% the best.
    • Nose
      Diluted to around 40%: the fruity plum base note comes out very well. Almost reminiscent of "Japanese Umeshu", but no. The caramel and vanilla are too present, albeit in a very "lovely" form.
    • Taste
      Diluted to about 40%: The "lots" of water has quite tamed the smell. Still not the taste. The flavor has been weakened a bit, but the strong basic impression is still there.
    • Finish
      What remains is only an oak-heavy flavor, which doesn't last that long.

    I'm still thinking about it, but with 45% I think it tasted a lot better.
    • Nose
      Diluted to around 48%: In comparison, quite a bit stronger, almost too strong to be able to absorb all of the fruit without any problems. From here on, seasoning and caramel take over.
    • Taste
      Diluted to approx. 48%: skin clean. After you get used to it you will notice a stronger oak-heaviness than before.
    • Finish
      Unchanged.

    So good.
    • Nose
      Diluted to about 45%: more fruity than before. More dark dried fruits like plums. Still very spicy and caramel-heavy.
    • Taste
      Diluted to around 45%: a firm, pleasant, delicate note of wood hovers next to sweet corn.
    • Finish
      Fades slightly, but this impression covers the tongue and throat and lingers comfortably for up to 30 seconds.

    Wow, what an overall impression. Even when diluted to 43%, it tastes richer than many others with this strength. I deliberately skipped 40%, but now I will make up for this strength as well. For me currently the best bourbon I've ever drunk.
    • Nose
      Undiluted: First vanilla and caramel, association of dried plums, first light spice, then transitioning to the typical bourbon aroma but completely without "glue smell", so only the best.
    • Taste
      Diluted to around 43%: Spicy, powerful, full-bodied with dark fruits.
    • Finish
      Diluted to about 43%: long and warming.
