What an unusual malt. Fresh, mint and yet extreme fruit notes dominate this "strange" whisky. Unusual, but interesting and delicious!
    • Nose
An incredible freshness flows from the glass after pouring. Intense cherries and Christmas spices smell fragrant, while orange flavors and apricots mingle with each other while tough streaks recede into the glass relatively quickly. The alcohol is harmoniously integrated, the fruits and berries become more intense and almost seem to explode! I can not satiate myself on this nose.
    • Taste
The first sip is dominated by an indefinable seasoning. Spicy wood notes and eucalyptus end in a medicinal aroma that I can not define. Somehow the aroma is comparable to almonds, marzipan, amaretto and biscuits. Strange ... Slight sharpness develops and heats up the palate, freshness and mint arise.
    • Finish
In the finish, this indefinable aroma continues. The finish is medium-lasting and leaves a slightly medical note.

    • Nose
      Golden brown color, very appetizing.
The sherry is soft but intense, along with apricots and plums.
    • Taste
Violent start. A lot of saliva develops. In my mouth is forming a sweet soup. In the aroma now also some vanilla. He smells spicier now. Very interesting, how the taste changes. A wonderful spiciness mixes with the sweet sherry. Of the wood itself comes little, but that does not bother, because he has much to offer.
    • Finish
Almost too good for water. I renounce.
      Long, powerful finish.

very interesting malt that needs a lot of time and air. In retrospect, I'm glad I gave it to him. Because I didn't like it at my very first tasting and I would have given it a maximum of 83. But today he was able to convince me otherwise.
    • Nose
Strong sherry start, then there are intense dried fruits, the missing notes that I had the first time have almost disappeared. However, the fermented metallic thing I had at the very beginning still shows up briefly. The air in the sample bottle was really good for him. Now it comes out very fruity with apricots and oranges, also a little cherry and chocolate shows up later
    • Taste
Strong sherry-heavy start, a bit sweet and at first I find a lot of chocolate here, but it softens quickly and it becomes more sour and slightly bitter. Then the oranges come and it looks very spicy and a bit peppery.
    • Finish
The finish is very aromatic and spicy and is very reminiscent of Christmas spices, after a while it becomes sour, but then it changes again and it changes the aromas for a very long time. Later the dried fruits show up and the chocolate comes at the very end

Aroma: bright, raisin-malt, dark raisins, prunes, dates, port Ruby. Further, these dried fruits are complemented by malt notes: roasted malt, bran. Light perfume notes, something similar to the Soviet cologne, freshly ground coffee, added a little minerality: a grindstone, salt, raw earth. Bright, juicy, very good!

Taste: bright, rich, dark raisins, dates, wood tannins, light hints of pine needles, very sweet concentrated black currant and blueberry jam, red pepper, cloves, nutmeg, very little walnut.

Finish: longer than average, pleasant wood tannins, sweet dried fruits, some spices, light fragrance, slowly fading.

    Rating: 88

    • Nose
      Really dark amber

Immediately I have leather, plum, sweetened apricot and fig. The alcohol is there and stings something. But pushes the aromas neatly. Freshly painted park bench, rust and herbs follow. With some time in the glass, the alcohol takes a step back and makes room for marzipan, toasted malt and mint. But it also resonates with an acidic fruit note, as in a "heavy" red wine. And really thick liquorice.
    • Taste
Strong, sweet and spicy onset. The alcohol shows immediately where the hammer hangs. Liquorice, malt and tart herbs follow. The taste outweighs more the sour berry notes. The taste is partly musty and dusty dry. Roasted aromas, tobacco and again and again sour fruit notes. A certain bitterness from the barrel also plays along well. There is something special that I can not come to.
    • Finish
Medium to long. Neat seasoning and alcohol. Toasted almonds and sour berries. By the way, sweetie, which tries to go against it. Will dry and at the very end comes again the licorice.

Yes, what can I say ... I can understand that the fine spirits divorce here. He has definite potential. But .... the alcohol is not well integrated. I think you should have given him more time. I could not find something metallic. All in all, not a bad malt.
    • Nose
15 minutes ago I added a teaspoon of water, and yet the alcohol still stands out very strong! Some more water ..... Now he opens up. Milk chocolate and cinnamon are the first thing I sniff. Sherry ... jo, and again cinnamon. Alcohol still stings. After some time some nutmeg and caramel. Overripe light and dark fruits ..... but what exactly, I can not make out. Slight almond flavor still.
    • Taste
Creamy, oily. Again the milk chocolate. Raisins. Alcohol in the mouth after two additions of water is still quite biting. In the mouth he is not very complex. Nevertheless, suddenly fruity sweet. Liqueur-like. Now he reminds me of the Deanston PX.
    • Finish
Long. The palate is long occupied.
