Whisky Reviews for Glenfarclas 2005
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.93 points
- Hard to believe this is just 10 years old. Must've been one hell of a cask. Thoroughly enjoyable and very classic Glenfarclas (without the 'virgin oaky spice' from the newer bottlings, mind you). Coughsweets. Rhubarb pie, no bitterness whatsoever.
- My notes won't do this youthful beauty justice but it is a glorious first fill sherry hogshead matured whisky from Glenfarclas. Very active wood, the oak leads the way and tames the youthful spirit a bit.
On the nose and palate I get roasted nuts, oak, salted caramel, chocolate and sherry. The finish is long with oak and cacao dust.
A refined sherry bomb and the high ABV is well integrated.
